How did a former London lawyer become recognised by BBC Good Food as the UK’s “go to” expert on Pakistani cuisine?  Born and raised in Karachi, Sumayya Usmani has a fascinating story to tell.  Hear how and why she turned her back on a rewarding career as a lawyer to follow her passion for the flavours and culinary heritage of her homeland and establish herself as one of the UK’s most respected food writers.

Now living in Glasgow, and loving life in Scotland, Sumayya will share her story, giving you an insight into how she has developed a successful career in food writing and cookery teaching, culminating in the launch this year of her debut memoir-style cookbook “Summers Under the Tamarind Tree”.
