Beauty Kitchen

Is this the brand of the future?

The team at Glasgow-based Beauty Kitchen are celebrating after being chosen as a finalist from hundreds of applicants in the special “Brand of the Future” category at the 14th annual Natwest everywoman Awards in London in December 2016. The award is for the founder of a company that demonstrates huge potential for growth.

Jo-Anne Chidley launched Beauty Kitchen in September 2014 with the goal of getting more people to buy natural beauty products not because they should but because they really work. The products are 100% effective, natural and affordable products. The recipes only contain 100% pure essential oils plus naturally derived ingredients that will never cost the earth. Jo –Anne started with five products and in March 2016 she signed an exclusive agreement with Holland & Barrett UK, which will see its products stocked in over 750 stores across the UK. Jo has grown the business to include more than 90 products launched in Holland and Barrett and in 2017 will be expanding the business internationally.

Jo- Anne is Glasgow born and she has had to drive herself to constantly learn, develop and create opportunities for herself, and devotes time to helping young people in similar circumstances do the same. She runs 1-2-1 sessions with young people to help them with life choices and personal development, and is a member of the Youth Employment Initiative where she trains young people who have struggled to find employment.

Jo joined Entrepreneurial Spark’s Glasgow Hatchery after winning a Scottish EDGE award in 2014 which has helped contribute to this success. Beauty Kitchen has continued to source innovative Sustainable Beauty ingredients to create effective natural products and has taught over 5,000 people how to make their own along the way! Only a few billion people left to reach to make Sustainable Beauty a reality for everyone!
