Business Women Scotland and WES Scotland Awards 2018

Women’s Enterprise Scotland & Business Women Scotland.

Friday 2nd November 2018 – Grand Central Hotel Glasgow

Business Women Scotland (BWS) and Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) are collaborating to mark the achievements of the growing numbers of women-led businesses. The Business Awards will celebrate the entrepreneurial talents of women across Scotland – and help to create more business role models to inspire the next generation of leading women. Join us as we start the evening with a welcome glass of fizz and networking, then through to the auditorium for the Awards ceremony.

As we unveil the women making their mark their way in the world of business this year, we are delighted to have the support of the Federation of Small Businesses, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Dentons and Grand Central hotel. Together, we will recognise the notable contribution women are making to boost Scotland’s economy and continue to develop a diverse and thriving world-class business ecosystem .

Our MC for the evening is journalist and broadcaster Rachel McTavish. In the last 15 years Rachel has worked for ITV, BBC, FIVE, GMTV, STV, ITV London and can be seen reading the news on STV.

Media Partnership

Championing women in business is a priority to Scottish Business Insider magazine. Not just because gender equality in the workplace can help to improve the economy, but because there are great women in Scotland who are doing brilliant work within their sectors. It’s vital that these success stories are shared with our audience and cascaded down to inspire the next generation of working women.

Our support for women in business will continue to grow as we announce an exciting media partnership with the Business Women Scotland/Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards.

Women’s Enterprise Scotland and Business Women Scotland inspire and support women to start and grow their own businesses. They provide an invaluable service as well as helping to influence policymakers and opinion formers to recognise the contribution women-led businesses currently make to the economy. This partnership will provide a platform to celebrate female entrepreneurship across Scotland and influence key policy makers.

Jackie McGuigan, Marketing and Creative Director of Insider owner Media Scotland said, ‘This is an exciting opportunity to work with BWS and WES. The partnership will continue to shape the agenda for equality and in turn have a positive impact on the economy.”

How to attend:

Our nominated charity of the year is NSPCC Scotland, a great charity protecting children in Scotland. All money raised on the evening will be donated to NSPCC Scotland.
