Head of Women in Business As Head of Women in Business for NatWest, The Royal Bank of Scotland & Ulster Bank, Yvonne is responsible for designing and implementing the Women in Business Strategy working with key stakeholders both internally and externally across the UK. With over 400 WIB specialists across the country she is also responsible for supporting this network to collaborate, build relationships and influence senior stakeholders, strategic partners and external organisations across the UK to drive the WIB proposition for the bank. Yvonne’s passion is to champion female led businesses and is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Women in Work at Westminster and the Cross Party Group for Women in Enterprise at the Scottish Parliament. In addition, Yvonne is a member of the Women & Girls Sports Advisory Board and the Women in Enterprise Advisory Council for the Scottish Government. Yvonne actively mentors and provides training to Women in Business across the country and is keen to inspire women to set up and scale their business. Yvonne has a number of Board positions and is Chair of MsMissMrs, a Community Interest Company seeking to empower women and girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. She is also trustee of Changing the Chemistry, an organisation seeking Diversity of thought on boards and recently joined the board of Firstport, an organisation that support new Social Enterprises across Scotland. She has been with Inspiring Scotland since its launch in 2008, as Head of Funds before taking on the role of Chief Executive in 2013, and has been instrumental in shaping its values and vision. Celia brings 20 years of management experience from the private sector and is passionate about the potential of people and communities to create lasting positive change. She is a champion of collaborative working to tackle deep-rooted social problems. Celia leads from the front with commitment and dedication, both with Inspiring Scotland and as a member of several community and advisory groups. She sits on the Building Safer Communities Board, Chairs the Community sub group of the Partnership for Action on Drugs in Scotland and is an Advisor to Common Purpose Scotland.

June Walker is a highly knowledgeable and well-respected Business Growth Strategist and Board Advisor. Her previous and current business experience includes many senior appointments across the financial industry and various business advisory positions across a wide spectrum of industry sectors including Manufacturing, Food and Drink, Logistic, Recruitment, and most recently Oil and Gas. As an active mentor and coach, June’s experience in business innovation, transformation and building high performing teams, along with her insight to board and stakeholder management has assisted many business leaders and organisations realise their goals. As well as her consultancy work and her NED portfolio, June has recently become a Specialist Advisor to the Scottish Chambers of Commerce to lead their Future Female Business Leaders Programme.

Having initially studied Psychology, then Law, Laura’s diverse career has seen her acquire expertise across a range of business sectors, as well as working with the Government leading an innovative economic development initiative and as a corporate lawyer. She has held a variety of Board positions and has a strong commitment to Glasgow and Scotland as a former Chair of the IoD, a Council member of the CBI, and board member of both Glasgow and Edinburgh Chambers of Commerce. She is currently a Governor on the Court of Glasgow Caledonian University. Director of Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company Michelle has held senior management positions within the media industry, television press and magazines before leaving the commercial world to join Scottish Sports Futures Charity as a Director ten years ago. Before joining RBLI in 2018, she was Managing Director of successful social enterprise St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies Ltd. leading the team as they turned a deficit of over £100k to a net profit of £130k in year one of her stewardship. They achieved Highly Commended at the UK National Business Awards competing against some of the UK’s most widely recognised Social Enterprises. Michelle was a Guest Lecturer at the University of Glasgow Business School and was a speaker at the World Social Enterprise Forum in New Zealand in 2017. Since taking up post as Director of Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (SBMC) a division of The Royal British Legion Industries in January 2018, the organisation has transformed an empty, dilapidated factory on the Erskine Hospital Estate, transforming it into a vibrant and successful social enterprise with 15 employees, 9 of whom are veterans – 8 with disabilities and 5 disabled volunteers. SBMC has been successful in tendering to be included on the multi-million pound Scotland Excel Framework for signs, and was the only social enterprise to achieve this. Since manufacturing started in August last year they have successfully won contracts with Bear Scotland, Network Rail, Amey Scotland and are already seen as market leaders within the sector. This year the target is to achieve a turnover of £1,000,000 and to support over 50 veterans and others with disabilities.

Susie had a high flying media career in London which was cut short after she had her daughter, who was born with a chronic heart condition. After being “advised” to leave her job, she moved back to Glasgow and found herself unemployed and unsure of what to do next. So she started her own business… Susie believes that if you are passionate about what you do and have complete faith in your ability and those around you, anything is possible. Susie seasoned marketing professional, leader and strategist. An expert in communications, Susie has worked both as Head of Marketing of a major media company, overseeing day to day marketing for 160 newspapers. 
She ran her own company for ten years securing millions of pounds of new business, overseeing communication campaigns for some of the UK’s largest brands, managing clients multi million pound marketing budgets and leading a creative, dynamic and effective team. Her company won HSBC Start Up Business of the Year 2010 and last year Susie and her team won CIPR Gold Award for best campaign in the Arts and Sport and the NODS Best Creative Press Award.

Susie started out as professional actress in London and still has a passion for the Arts and education. When she sold her company in 2015, she worked for Scottish Women’s Football helping to re structure their commercial model, secure sponsorship and revolutionise their communications. 

She is now MD of ADEO Group, on the Board of Scottish Youth Theatre and is an Ambassador for Carers Trust.

Employment Partner at Dentons Amanda is a specialist in both Employment Law and Discrimination Law by the Law Society of Scotland. Her main areas of interest are all aspects of discrimination and industrial relations.. Chair of the Scottish Discrimination Law Association, a member of the Law Society Equalities Law Reform Committee, and a member of both the Discrimination Law Association and the Employment Lawyers Association. Amanda is also a non executive director of Hibernian Football Club and was until recently Chair of Scottish Women’s Aid. Prior to joining MMS as a partner in 2001, I was a partner in the niche employment firm, Mackay Simon.
