The Scottish Government has pledged £185,000 in funding to support six projects across Scotland helping women back into work following a career break.

Employability Minister Jamie Hepburn has today announced the successful recipients.

The funding builds on an existing £50,000 project currently being led by Equate Scotland which is providing support for at least 40 women to re-enter the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sectors up to January 2018.

Receiving awards in the latest funding round are:

* Adopt an Intern, who will receive £55,000 to host workshops to support 30 black and minority ethnic (BME) women prior to taking on three month internships with Diageo, Trossachs Distillery, Highland Spring and small manufacturing businesses.

* Women Returners Ltd have been awarded £48,500 for the Returners to Financial Services Scotland Programme which will enable 40 experienced financial services professional women on career break to get back into skilled employment at a suitable level

* Glasgow Clyde College has been awarded £37,200 to deliver the Women Into Child-minding programme for 15 Women Returners to the labour market from the Glasgow LEP area.
